Shopping for kitchen cabinets the traditional way can be tedious and time consuming. It requires the customer to visit the store multiple times, browse through physical catalogs and undergo complex measurements. Additionally, it becomes difficult to visualize what is available in the store at their home.
The kitchen cabinet selling company was faced with a challenge to streamline this entire process, minimize the visits and increase conversions. Additionally, they did not have a strong digital presence, which meant they were missing out on important customers.
The kitchen cabinet manufacturers wanted to build a platform that replicated the tactile and visual assurance of physical shops while offering convenience. Moreover, they wanted to simplify kitchen cabinet purchases while reducing uncertainties among shoppers.

Challenges
The product visualization was our biggest challenge while developing the eCommerce application for the custom kitchen cabinet manufacturers. We had to ensure 3D rendering along with real-time AR visualization without compromising the speed and performance of the application. For this purpose, we optimized cloud-based processing that allowed for swift rendering.
The second challenge was to get customers to write in precise cabinet measurements that would work in their kitchen spaces. We used an intuitive onboarding process that came with guided tutorials and an efficient interface to improve this part.
Lastly, we noticed people were resistant to adopt an AR-based shopping application. We overcame this challenge by making onboarding and using the application simple.
Solution
The modernized kitchen cabinet shopping app was built with an easy-to-use interface and AR integration. We included features like virtual design assistant and style comparison for the best outcomes. Seamless checkouts, accurate pricing and real-time advice from experts helped make it an interactive application.
We eliminated uncertainty and built a more intuitive solution to improve customer engagement. The app also streamlined order management to help manage customer deliveries, schedule the cabinet installations and review the updates. We ensured the backend system offered detailed insights into customer preferences, recent design trends and sales data to the retailer for better decision-making.
Using AI, we built a recommendation engine that suggested the styles and finishes based on the user’s preferences. AI also provided them with insights concerning latest designs and user behaviour. It allowed the customers to make informed choices. We showed them how the cabinets would look in their kitchens before letting them purchase it using AR technology.
To enhance the user’s engagement on the store, we also provided them with virtual consultation.
Mobile First
As most people research and purchase for kitchen cabinets using their mobile devices, having a responsive site was our first priority. We designed a website that allowed consistency and seamless purchases on all devices and browsers.

Result
As we built an AR-based visualization solution, we managed to increase the engagement on the store by about 70%. Users were able to get better understanding of the product in their homes, which increased the conversion rates for the business.
